Bird watching will be done in the Hazyview, Mpumalanga surrounding area. Persons have to choose which activities they would like to participate in. Birding enthusiast will accompany you on all trips. We have 5 different adventure birding activity options to choose from. You must select one of these options for the morning and one for the afternoon. You are welcome to select the same birding activity for both sessions.

Available activities for the bird watching weekend 


Quad Bike Birding

The Quad bike birding activity will be a fun way to explore areas that cannot be reached by vehicle’s. The confluence of the three rivers will provide bird life unimagined. Narina Trogon, Turaco’s, Bee-eaters, Rufous chested Sparrowhawk’s can be seen here. Guides will lead you to the birding hotspots.

Mountain Birding on a bike

You will cycle along the Mac Mac, Sabaan and Sabie river which will take you through diverse habitats excellent for birding. Eagles, Trogons, Turaco’s, Cuckoo’s, Robin’s are ever present along with the smaller LBJ’s (Little brown jobs)

Guided Hiking

Hiking on foot, only hearing the sound of your footsteps, water and birdlife. Perfect setup to find Cuckoo’s, Mountain wagtail, Bee eaters, Robin ‘s and Cameroptera’s to mention a few.

 
River Birding

The river birding experience down the sabie river will provide you with perfect and close-up birding opertunities to the water birds in our area. You will find the beautiful half-collared Kingfisher and the elusive african finfoot.

Transfer Birding

You will be transferred with a vehicle to the birding hotspots in Hazyview, Mpumalanga area. Because of the transport you will be able to visit all the different birding habitats this area has to offer. African pygmy goose, Amethyst Sunbird, Olive woodpecker etc.

 

- All activities start from Induna Adventures and are guided.

- Group sizes will be no bigger than 10.

- All activities will take place in and around Hazyview, Mpumalanga.

- Dont forget your camera and binoculars.
